The practice is open Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings. Hospital on-call is on a 24 hour rotating roster Monday to Friday, and alternating weekends.

For this position, you must be proficient in general practice and trauma/accident and emergency and hold current emergency medicine certification (APLS, ELS, ACLS, PALS etc).

King Island is located in the Bass Strait which separates Tasmania from mainland Australia. Surprisingly it's a 35-minute flight to reach Melbourne and it has daily direct flights there, as well as to Burnie/Launceston/Hobart in Tasmania.
