Victorian Custodial Health provider requires a Medical Officer in General Practice for an ongoing casual contract.

Doctors are assessing and managing people in police custody, who are typically held for short periods before being released, transferred to court or remanded.

The work has a strong focus on acute primary care, mental health, alcohol and drug presentations, and determining fitness for custody or transfer.

The shifts are based at Lonsdale St in the CBD, with requirements to visit police station around Melbourne where required.

Shift times are 0830 - 1630 and you will always finish back at Lonsdale Street it you are visiting other sites.

Clinical staff are always supervised by police or custodial officers.
